Inside massive 1.6bn plan to turn Hertfordshire into Hollywood as creative sector receives cash bo
CHANCELLOR Jeremy Hunt today said that watching Brits queue up to see Barbie has inspired him to turn Hertfordshire into Hollywood.
The Treasury has slashed taxes for movie makers in a bid to bring them to Britain.

Ministers want blockbuster producers to move from sunny LA to locations such as Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire and Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
Filming for the Barbie movie, which topped £1bn in the box office, mainly took place in the Southwest of England.
And the highly anticipated screen adaption of Wicked will be filmed just half an hour from Milton Keynes.
Movie studios working in the UK benefitted from £517m in tax discounts last year.
And high-end TV production companies were relieved of a £829m financial burden.
In total the creative industries bagged £1.6bn in tax reliefs.

Mr Hunt told The Sun: “As people queued up for this summer’s blockbusters, I felt huge pride that Barbie was filmed right here in the UK.
“I want Hertfordshire to be the next Hollywood, which is why I am backing our TV and film industry, with the creative sector getting over £1.6 billion in support through tax relief in 2021-22 alone.”
